Build your own practice. We bring you the clients.

Psychotherapy Partners is a partnership, not a clinic. You keep your name, your prices, your hours and your way of working. We take care of being found, of the calendar, of the online meeting room and of keeping track of the payments.

No approval queue. Your profile goes live the moment it is complete.

What you keep

Everything that makes a practice yours stays yours. Here is what we promise, and where the rules behind each promise live.

A man with a coffee on a bench in a sunlit garden on a weekday afternoon

You decide your hours

We do not restrict you in any way. You publish the slots you want to fill, as many or as few as you like, and change them whenever you like. You work only when you want, and no more than you want.

You set your prices

Each service has the price you give it, in your own currency, and you can change it. A change takes effect from the month after next, and your clients are told in advance, so nobody is ever surprised by a price.

We help you find clients

People come here to choose a therapist themselves: they read profiles, specialties and other clients' reviews. Your profile, your descriptions and your ratings are what they see. We advertise the service; you present yourself.

No risk, low fees

There is no sign-up fee and no subscription. You pay a commission of 5% to 15% only on the meetings your clients have actually paid you for. A month with no meetings costs you nothing. See how the commission works.

Online and in person, equally

Online meetings run in the browser, on our platform, one to one, with nothing to install and nothing ever recorded. In-person meetings are just as welcome: your address and a map go on your profile, and the bookings work the same way.

And the rest of it

  • We keep your calendar

Weekly availability, one-off slots, vacations and public holidays, cyclical meetings and cancellations, all in one schedule, with reminders sent to both sides.

  • Clients rate your work, you moderate the comments

Ratings are public and cannot be bought. If a comment is inappropriate, you can hide it; the numeric rating still counts, so the average stays honest.

  • Your own cancellation policy

You decide how late a client may cancel free of charge (2 days by default). A later cancellation or a no-show is paid in full and not refunded. Your own cancellations never cost your clients anything: whatever they have paid for a meeting you cancel, you refund.

  • No lengthy approval process

Nobody reviews your profile before it goes public. You present your qualifications yourself, in your descriptions and with up to 8 profile images, such as certificate scans or photos of your office.

  • Placement is not for sale

Where you appear in the search results depends only on your clients' ratings, on whether you still have a free slot and on how long you have been with us. It cannot be bought, cannot be traded for a higher commission rate and is never adjusted by hand.

  • Pause at any time

One switch takes you out of the search results and stops new bookings. The clients you already have keep their meetings, your profile, ratings and comments stay, and pausing never affects your commission rate.

Our fee depends on how full your month is

Three tiers, tied to your occupancy in a calendar month. The fuller your month, the less you pay.

Occupancy up to 50%: 15% commission. Over 50% up to 90%: 10%. Over 90%: 5%.

In plain words

  • Occupancy is booked meetings divided by published slots

It is computed separately for each calendar month. A meeting you called off because it was not paid still counts as booked. Publish only the slots you actually want to fill and your occupancy goes up.

  • Holidays, vacations and pauses never lower it

Slots on public holidays, during your vacation or while your profile is paused are simply never published, so they do not count — as long as you plan them at least 48 hours ahead.

  • We charge only on meetings that were actually paid for

Held meetings, no-shows and late cancellations that the client has paid for. A meeting nobody paid for, or one you refunded, never costs you commission. Clients pay you directly; we never touch the money.

  • A meeting keeps the rate of its own month

The rate is fixed when the month closes on the 1st, from that month's occupancy, and applies to every paid meeting of that month.

Your month, step by step

Clients pay you directly, in advance, by bank transfer. We never touch the money. We only keep track of what has been paid, in a rhythm that is the same every month.

How the money flows

Follow one free slot through a sample month.

  1. Your free slot

Say you have a free slot on this day.

  2. Clients can book it

Until 48 hours before the meeting. With the confirmation the client gets your bank details and a transfer title.

  3. The payment deadline

The client pays you by bank transfer at the latest 24 hours before the meeting. You mark it paid when the money arrives.

  4. The month closes

On the 1st we issue the invoice for our commission on last month's paid meetings.

  5. Our invoice is payable

You pay it within 6 days of receiving it.

Your monthly duties

This is important — these deadlines make this model work.

  1. 1. Mark the payments

by the end of the month

Mark each meeting paid when the money arrives, or unpaid once its payment deadline has passed. A meeting still unmarked when the month closes on the 1st counts as paid and carries our commission.

  2. 2. Mark no-shows

by the end of the month

If a client did not turn up, mark the meeting as a no-show: the client is told by e-mail, the meeting is still paid for, and a payment already made is kept. On the 1st the month closes and its meetings can no longer be touched.

  3. 3. Answer reports that you did not join

by the end of the month

A client can report that you did not join a meeting. You confirm or reject it. An unanswered report is resolved in the client's favour when the month closes: the meeting carries no commission, and what the client paid for it you refund.

  4. 4. Make the refunds you owe

    as each one falls due

A paid meeting that the client cancelled in time, that you cancelled or that you did not join is refunded by you, directly. We e-mail you about each one: send the money back and mark the meeting refunded on your finances page.

Freedom, and what comes with it

You run your own practice here. That is the whole point, and it means four things we say just as clearly.

We do not verify qualifications

You confirm, in a declaration, that you hold the professional qualifications and, where the law requires it, the licence for every specialty you select. You are solely and legally responsible for your practice and for your work with clients. Clients are told this on every profile. See the terms for psychotherapists.

Qualifications are described by the therapist and are not verified by Psychotherapy Partners.

Meetings are never recorded

We never record the audio or video of an online meeting, and recording in any form, including screenshots, is prohibited for everyone involved. The only thing stored is the text chat between you and your client. See the terms for psychotherapists.

You are the controller of your clients' data

You are an independent controller of your clients' personal data. You use it only to provide therapy and settle payments, inform your clients yourself, keep clinical documentation off the platform, never disclose anything about a client publicly, including in a response to a comment, handle access and erasure requests yourself and report suspected breaches. The details are in the terms and the privacy policy for psychotherapists.

One person, one practice

An account belongs to a single person running their own practice, as a sole trader or through their own company. Clinics with employed therapists and shared logins are not supported. You need to be resident in the EU or EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. See the terms for psychotherapists.

What you will need

Registration takes a few minutes. Have these at hand so you do not have to stop halfway.

To register

  • Your full name
  • Your profile name. We will use it for your public profile URL, for example psychotherapy.partners/p/your-name
  • Your country of residence and time zone
  • An email address
  • Your billing identity: legal name, tax identification number, billing address, VAT status and the EU VAT number where applicable
  • Acceptance of the terms for psychotherapists

To go live

  • At least one bank account, where your clients pay for each meeting
  • At least one service with a price
  • Your weekly availability

The profile lists itself the moment the last of these is in place.

Questions therapists ask

Short, plain answers. The terms for psychotherapists say more.

Can you show the commission on an example?

Say you publish 20 slots a month. With 10 or fewer booked, your occupancy is 50% or less and the rate is 15%. With 11 to 18 booked it is between 50% and 90% and the rate is 10%. With 19 or 20 booked it is over 90% and the rate is 5%. The rate applies only to the meetings that were actually paid for.

What happens when a client does not pay?

Every meeting is paid in advance, at the latest 24 hours before it starts. If the money has not arrived by then, you may call the meeting off as unpaid until it starts: the client is e-mailed, the meeting still counts as booked in your occupancy, and no commission is charged on it. If you would rather hold the meeting, do; mark it unpaid afterwards if the money never comes, and it carries no commission either. We do not chase the payment for you: it is between you and your client.

How far in advance can clients book appointments with me?

At least 48 hours ahead, and up to the end of the next month. On the first day of each month the window rolls forward by one month, and the slots of the newly reachable month are published then. That is why it pays to enter a vacation before the window reaches it: the slots inside it are then never published, so nobody books them and you have nothing to cancel. You can enter vacations up to a year ahead.

Vacation or pause: which one do I use?

A vacation has dates: you enter it up to a year ahead, the slots inside it are not published, and it ends by itself. A pause is open-ended: one switch takes you out of the search results and stops new bookings until you switch it off. In both cases the meetings you already have carry on, and neither lowers your occupancy or raises your commission rate.

Can I open a slot outside my weekly hours?

Yes. A one-off slot is a single extra hour on a chosen day. You can leave it open for anyone to book, or attach an invitation for a named client, in which case only that person can take it. A one-off slot counts towards occupancy like any other published slot, and it can be created, moved or deleted only while it is at least 48 hours away.

What happens when a client does not turn up?

The client still pays for the meeting: once you mark it as a no-show, before the month ends, the client is told by e-mail and a payment already made is kept, not refunded. The meeting counts towards your occupancy and carries the commission like any other paid meeting. A meeting you cancel yourself, however late, is never paid for: if the client has already paid, you refund it.

What happens if I leave?

You delete your account in your settings once every future meeting is cancelled, every refund is made and the money is settled: the last month with your meetings has closed and our last charge has fallen due. Your profile, your ratings and your comments go with it, and your profile address is retired, never handed to anybody else. There is no notice period and no fee. If you only want a break, pause instead. The details are in the terms for psychotherapists.
